Holiday Greetings from EWS
Dear alumnae,
Season’s greetings from Emma Willard! The girls have just returned from Thanksgiving break and are counting down the three short weeks until Revels. My four freshman advisees can’t quite get their arms around Revels and are awaiting the performance with great anticipation. Do you remember your first Revels and the thundering foot stomping and cheering that seemed to make the whole campus vibrate? I hope your recollections of this special time of year bring a smile to your face.
Best wishes from all of us on Mount Ida for safe, warm, and happy holidays (and, as always, don’t hesitate to be in touch if you need anything from here!).
Cheers,
Linda J. Passaretti '84

A challenge to take part!
Wadsworth CommUnity Challenge: 2,500 = $250,000! As you consider your year end giving, consider this—if 2,500 people make a gift to EWS before June 30, 2010, trustee Michal Colby Wadsworth ’65 and husband Jim will add $250,000 to their commitment to Emma Willard. This generous challenge hopefully will inspire all of us in the Emma Willard community to join together and support Emma Willard. Gifts of any size make a difference, and the impact is especially great when we all participate! Click HERE to give now.

Academic Ambassadors
Academic Ambassadors discounts intimate, stylish, full-service boutique hotels around the country and Canada for non-profit professionals, affiliates, and volunteers. Created by a fellow traveler (the former director of major gifts at Smith College) seven years ago, AcAmb carefully chooses the "right" hotel in the "right" location to put us in the heart of a city's entertainment district. Though intimate in scale and feel, most of the hotels have fine and casual dining, meeting rooms, and fitness centers. Many have spas and pools. All have sophisticated decor and the kind of personalized service associated with independent hotels (the large chains are not represented here). The founder/president, Adam Siegel, is avidly interested in saving us money while enhancing our travel and is accessible for any special requests, including the booking of larger groups. He will accept praise and criticism, as well, and welcomes suggestions for expansion and improvement. Academic Ambassadors is the official hotel discounter of Harvard, MIT, Duke, BC, Tufts, and OperaAmerica. Unofficially, it serves over 350 non-profits, from colleges and universities to museums, hospitals, and public and independent schools, including Emma Willard! There is no cost associated with joining or using the service, and discounts are available to Emma Willard alumnae. Enjoy your travels!

Call for alumnae in theater: Take one!
Emma Willard’s new theater director, Valerie Carlson, would like EWS to participate in a theater festival. To be accepted into the festival, the festival producers have asked her to indicate how many alumnae went on to minor or major in theater in college or pursued theater outside of school. Whether backstage or onstage, on or off-Broadway, please let us know if you are involved in theater or television (even as a hobby). Please email Linda Passaretti '84 at lpassaretti@emmawillard.org.
